Kyrgyz Language
Kyrgyz (also spelled Kirgiz, or Kirghiz) belongs to the Kipchak, or northwestern, division of the Turkic subfamily of Altaic languages. It is spoken in Kyrgystan and in the Pamir Mountains on the border between Afghanistan, China, and Tajikistan.
Kyrgyz is closely related to the languages of Kazak, Karakalpak, and Nogay.
About 4 million people worldwide speak Kyrgyz.
