Ilonggo Language
Ilongo (also spelled Ilonggo; also called Hiligaynon, or Panayan) is a language belonging to the Visayan (Bisayan) group of the Austronesian (Malayo-Polynesian) language family. It is spoken in the Philippines, the islands of Guimaras, northwestern Masbate, southern Mindoro, western Negros, Panay, Romblon, Sibuyan, and Tablas.
There are approximately 7 million Ilongo speakers in the Philippines.
The Ilongo vocabulary contains numerous Spanish loanwords.
