Nauruan Language
Nauruan is a Micronesian language belonging to the Eastern (or Oceanic) branch of the Austronesian language family. It is spoken in the Republic of Nauru, an island nation in the southwestern Pacific ocean. Nauruan’s relationship to other Micronesian languages is unclear. No sufficient list of written Nauruan grammar has been compiled. Nauruan is recognized as Nauru’s national language. However, English is also widely spoken among the nation’s 10,000 residents.
